About our tagging and pricing system...

We print all of the plant tags and signs we use in a crisp and concise form with growing information that we have acquired from over 25 years of plant growing research and experience. 

We try not purchase, or require you to buy within your plants, all of those colored plant-tags that seem to have popped up in every marketplace these days with generic and often irrelevant marketing or growing information. Particularly bothersome is the inherent inaccuracy of temperature and zone-hardiness information on these labels due to the fact that they are addressing gardeners anywhere in the country or, perhaps, the world. Did you know that companies who utilize those tags pass along the typical 5 to 12 cents cost per tag to gardeners who purchase plants with them? We do not feel that the inaccuracy, cost, or waste produced justifies their use.

Our custom-made plant tags utilize a simple letter-coded pricing system produced right here at Wayside. Along with easy to find matching signs and 'code-breakers' posted  throughout the Farm, anyone who visits us can find out what plants cost, without confusion.
